Three lovely new Israeli dances were taught by Lisa. We’ll practice them later this month. Sandansko Oro, Ratevka, and Gavotte d’Honneur were reviewed.

Alison and Alan programmed a varied program of great dances. They mixed in some of Natasha’s favorites to thank her for contributing so much to our group. Alan taught Sandansko Oro. Alison taught Gavotte d’Honneur, not revealing until the end that we learned it at 80% speed. Whew! Alison reviewed Siamsa Bierte and we are starting to feel the dance. Mary unearthed the old-timey Ratevka. Leon still has to count out Jeitili for us, but we’re getting it, really we are.

George kept the dances going as we hit mid August. Mary (“from Michigan”) dropped by on her way back from LLBean to dance with us again and to review Ying Bin Wu and Lenochek. Lisa brought beautiful music for Metovnicanka and reviewed Se’e Yona.

One this fine summer night we enjoyed a program put together by Leon. He taught a Hungarian couple dance that featured turning with different handholds and Loorke. Mary (“from Michigan”) came by and taught Ying Bin Wu and Lenocheck.  Alison broke down Siamse Bierte and Leon reviewed the Romanian couple dance Jiana de la Jina.
